Antonio Biasiucci
Cosmogonies
For Cortona On The Move, two series of works by Italian photographer Antonio Biasiucci are exhibited at Palazzo Baldelli: Museo delle Civiltà (Museum of Civilizations, 2022) as a photographic sequence, and Corpo Cosmico (Cosmic Body, 2017), presented through a five-screen video installation, conceived as an immersive experience and created by the artist himself.
Biasiucci’s Cosmogonies are the worlds he creates from the subjects he chooses to explore: the abstract necropolis to which the artifacts from Rome’s Museo delle Civiltà transport us, or the imaginary journey through the cosmos where the mozzarella from Corpo Cosmico become stars, planets, and constellations. Biasiucci encourages the observer to see the world in its richness of forms and references, building a renewed imagination in which to rediscover a part of themselves.
