In 2015 ensuring universal access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy has become an UN Sustainable Development Goal to be achieved by 2030: it is the SDG 2030 Agenda, number 7.
“Energy portraits” is a photography project depicting significant places where the global challenge to energy access takes place. Marco Garofalo respectfully enters the intimacy of dozens of ordinary families in Africa, South America, India and Europe to record them with their electric equipment.
Marco Garofalo (Milan, Italy, 1976) is a photojournalist, concentrating on social and cultural issues mainly in the city of Milan and throughout Africa.
