Co-funded by the European Union

Realized in collaboration with Photo Museum Ireland, FOTOHOF and Imago Lisboa

Groundswell Project

Groundswell is a project co-funded by the European Union that brings together four leading international institutions dedicated to contemporary photography—Photo Museum Ireland, FOTOHOF, Imago Lisboa, and Cortona On The Move—with the aim of reflecting, through visual language, on practices and concrete actions related to the climate crisis.
The project was created to support European artists in developing photographic and audiovisual works dedicated to the theme of climate action, conceiving photography as a tool capable not only of raising awareness but also of making visible responses, practices, and possibilities for change. Through international open calls, traveling exhibitions, publications, workshops, and public programs, the Groundswell project builds a space for discussion between contemporary art, sustainability, and cultural participation.
