Alessandra Sanguinetti spent her childhood summers at her father’s farm, outside Buenos Aires, in the countryside. On those trips she met Juana and spent the next few years visiting her constantly. The most regular visitors were Belinda and Guillermina, Juana’s granddaughters, who later became the protagonists of her images. Beginning in the summer of 1999, she spent a lot of time with them, embarked on a photographic project which continues even today that they are adults.
Alessandra Sanguinetti (New York, USA, 1968) is a photographer brought up in Argentina. She is based in San Francisco (CA) and explores themes of memory, and the psychological transitions. She is a member of Magnum Photos.
