Finnish people have always had a special relationship with nature, sharing their everyday life with domesticated and wild animals. Although Finland experienced exceptionally swift migration from rural areas to cities in the 60s, they have preserved a unique relationship with their “friends”. This series shows the unique form of coexistence that occurs in Finland between humans and animals.
Aleksi Poutanen (Mikkeli, Finland, 1985) is a commercial and documentary photographer working in Helsinki, Finland. In his work he has an uncanny and surprising approach.
