Osama Esid

Ghost Camera

“Ghost Camera” is a collection of images taken from an old camera and lens saved from a burning camera store owned by Esid’s friend. Taking advantage of the distorted lens, he captured hauntingly beautiful images of himself and his daughters, images that continue to raise questions, both technical and paranormal. Moving forward to future concepts, his sight is set firmly on confounding the limitations of past mediums. It is his way to experiment with creating visuals from another time.

Osama Esid (Damascus, 1970) has received several awards, including the Minnesota State Fair Fine Arts Award. He has exhibited in various galleries in Spain and France.
