Are They Rocks or Clouds?
Winner COTM Photobook Prize 2018
“Are They Rocks or Clouds?” is the title of a territorial investigation project that was conceived in the Dolomites, where Caneve aims at building knowledge of hydrogeological risk, a theme traditionally dealt with by science and technology. Moving away from her natural fascination with the mountains, the author tends to observe the territory with a clear conscience, looking for the possibility of measuring the risk for the inhabitants of the places where a catastrophe is expected to occur, or rather repeat itself.
Marina Caneve (Belluno, Italy, 1988) is a photographer and researcher who experiments with the use of photography as an instrument of observation.
