In collaboration with

The Vittoria Castagna Award, organised by the cultural association ONTHEMOVE within the framework of the Cortona On The Move international festival of photography, is aimed at young people (maximum age 30) who are undergoing training or have already completed their studies and who work in the field of marketing and communication for cultural production.

Vittoria Castagna has been a human and professional point of reference for the ONTHEMOVE Cultural Association for years, contributing in a unique way to the growth of the team she works with and to the development of Cortona On The Move, assisting the festival management in managing partners and developing communication strategies.

The Marketing and Communication Manager in the cultural sector is a professional with a wide range of skills and abilities, able to combine artistic and humanistic knowledge with the techniques and managerial and relational skills of the communication team, in order to deal with different professional figures or entrepreneurial and institutional realities.

The Marketing and Communication Manager in the Cultural Sector will have traditional and innovative communication and marketing skills, as well as knowledge of the instruments/means of economic support for cultural projects (tenders, fundraising, etc.), together with skills in the coordination and management of human resources.

The Vittoria Castagna Award of €5,000 will be awarded on the basis of a project idea that demonstrates how the candidate would develop an idea for a communication project aimed at developing relationships and corporate projects to ensure the sustainability of the event over time.
The selected candidate will be hosted during the opening days of the festival, from 13 to 16 July 2023.

Subsequently, he/she will be able to join the Cortona On The Move team for a curricular internship (starting October 2023) in order to develop and implement the project idea in the case of candidates in training; in the case of candidates who have already completed their studies, the method of integration will be evaluated (relocation to Cortona is not necessary).

The prize money is intended as a contribution to the conception and possible realisation of the project, through collaboration with the Cortona team, in the following ways:

  • Working with the festival management on the implementation of the project idea and assisting the festival communication management in the development of a communication plan to support the project;
  • Working closely with the festival Partner Manager to get to know the organisation’s partners, including cultural institutions, sponsors and funders, and the relationships established with them.
  • At the end of the shadowing period, if any, the project should be considered as started and/or completed.
