Jesus has become a pop culture icon: he appears on underwear, chocolate bars, and even on sex toys. Capitalism’s relentless usurping of anything and everything does not make exceptions for sacred imagery. Jaszczuk photographs in their everyday designated use, gadgets and toys that incorporate Catholic imagery. He is not solely a critic of religious dogmas, but the project reveals the cynicism of capitalism and the commodification of religion.
